whatever its worth to you. to someone else it aint worth a crap.  bit like the maico thread, its only worth somthing if you want itm and so does someone else.  If yyou only want a bike try a couple of grand, if you ant a museum trick unit try lots a grands, it a fairly hypothetical question unless you are buying one then its up to you what is a fair price to forfill your need.

Actually you should know arnt you trying to sell yours for $1200 bucks ????

You can get a whole frame for $10  :D http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-OSSA-PHANTOM-250CC-FRAME-AHRMA_W0QQitemZ220150979325QQihZ012QQcategoryZ35558QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

so you could always build one up with parts, or just throw the money on the table and pay what you like or should i say sell it for what you like  ;)

Assuming it's a genuinely very good/excellent bike, not just a decent one, then ~$12k for a 74 seems to be the accepted figure.
Later ones are worth somewhat less.

I've not seen a less than excellent one for sale in Australia, but good ones seem to be valued similarly to YZ360As, so the value of imperfect YZ-As might provide a price reasonable guide for unrestored Phantoms??
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

12K would not buy my '74 Phantom 250, although there was one ('74 GP250) advertised on bike point recently only 45 minutes from me. One owner, a little rough around the eges, but complete and good running condition. I read the add too late but a local guy got it for the princly sum of $1000 of his hard earned cash! He tells me he was unsure even at that price, but decided to get it anyway, and now plans to race it in 2008. I still don't think he realises just what it is he has.
