You are completely correct.
The average guy with a MIG will use what ever is in the welder while a specific TIG wire is easy to get and use.
This is what I was trying to get at.
MIG is strong if used right but this is not always the case in practise.
I did not know who or what you were when you asked "What did you weld it with" nor did I know what you were going to use the info for.
I thought you meant what method of welding not what filler rod. I have the greatest respect for Boilermakers and Fitters and Turners after seeing the art that is their trade.
