Suzuki 400C floating brake help
« on: January 21, 2009, 04:32:57 pm »
Replacing rear wheel bearings in my 78 RM400C thats all ok but have found 2 same size bearings in the floating brake plate, here's the prob... the parts diagram only show one and the spacer is reverse to the way it came out. If i follow the diagram then the outer centre of the hub and backing plate rub together.

anyone with same bike able to help? or know what i am talking about.

yup and yup Hotelmoto, the diagram does show the sleeve around the wrong way ;)

below is the picture of the correct assembly order with bearing already fitted in hub. The hub bearing is the odd one out and it's a 6005 sealed both sides.

just noticed, in my pic I have the axle adjuster arse about but just ignore that ::)
