« on: October 02, 2007, 08:47:20 pm »
HI , just thought id through this out there to see if anyone has come up with some good combinations in gearing the bike either short track moto eg canberra and say long track, bully super track, my 250 at the moment cracks but i found that on the shorter stuff im still giving the clutch a hard time , im currently running 13 front  and 43 rear, whats your thoughts CHEERS BONEHEAD. ::)

Pretty sure mine is running one tooth more than standard on the rear (just 'cause that's the sprocket the shop had in stock) and standard front. My memory is very dodgy on it, but I think 13/47???

I'll check for you tomorrow, but whatever the gearing is, it works well - never runs out of legs at Buladelah, and is comforatable without being clutched out of the slower corners at Fairbairn. I love that 6-speed!
Though, I normally end up clutching it a fair bit at Canberra, trying to find traction...

You're welcome to take mine for a ride at the Evo Challenge if you want.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

thanks nathan but im on holidays and probably will not make the evo challange, much to my dissapointment , but maybe the missus will let me fly back for the challenge, anyway my 250 i would say is geared ok for bully but i only ever seem to see 4th or 5th on that track ,maybe i need to go up on the rear sprocket so i can expierence 6th along that back straight? yeah i noticed your bike pulling better out of burms at fairburn as in hitting band firmer than my bike but i could catch you on the back straight no problem (passed you cause you stalled it) ;D ;D cheers BONEHEAD

std gearing which i race with is 14/48,good for formed tracks and maybe just a bit short on long grass tracks , give that a go

Cheers Trev ;D
