She's Finally Finished
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:35:29 pm »
My 1980 PE400 is finished. I have added a few photos below but have also made a still picture movie of the build and uploaded it to You Tube:

The Bike is in essence PE with RM plastics, tank and seat. I had the shocks made 1 inch longer than factory as I wanted the bike to have a later model look.

As you will notice I still have the factory steel exhaust on the bike. I may look at getting one fabriacted down the track but for the next few years I think I will keep the steel one.

Very nice GMC has a pipe ready to go and muffler if you were interested becuase there isn't many others I think there is a Jemco pe400 pipe if you can find one I put Geoff's pipe on and noticed a power difference and not to mention it looks a heap better than stock. ;)

I also got some works performance shocks made up to suit my weight but at stock length they work great.

Here is the GMC pipe it was patterned from my pe400x and installed on my pe400t fits both and the muffler is so much better than stock not to mention repackable I am not a sales rep for GMC though but higly recommend him ;)

I am very impressed with the pipe soon I will buy another I like your wheels they look different I was reading a few magazines the pe400 motor is better than the rm400 and easily keeps with them if not faster on the mx track. :)

That is very very nice and you would have to look a few times before you realise its a PE.

Great job Peter  ;)

Looks great.
But please fix the rear brake cable otherwise you'll end up on the deck in a screaming heap the first jump that you land off.

They use to have the black plastic guard on the swingarm but it is nla you can cable tie the cable to the front mount for the plasic guard and it will be out of the way.
