RM 250 A forks
« on: January 03, 2009, 02:26:52 pm »
I'm presently trying to rebuild a pair of 250 A forks for a restoration that I'm doing, I've done just about the whole bike and left the forks till last thinking they would be a walk in the park - that couldn't have been further from the truth. I've pulled both forks apart to get the staunchions rechromed but in doing so I discovered two different fork springs, more spacers in one than the other and different seals! I geuss what my question is, has anyone have any info on this type of fork, obviously one spring is wrong but which one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you got got a genuine manual? they often give fork spring length in there. also all my PE suzuki owners manuals list spring length. off the top of my head i dont think i have any RM specs. i have got the suzuki air fork manual that came out when the first air forks came out on Rm's in late 70's. i will see if there's any useful info in there
