YZ250E Pipe
« on: December 03, 2008, 08:11:24 pm »
Hi All

Does anyone know if a YZ250F pipe and muffler fits a YZ250E???

I'd like a DG pipe for my E but they just aren't available any more anywhere. So I'm curious to know what is the difference and if it is minor how much modification it needs to fit. Is it just a nip and tuck or it it major??

Or does anyone have a good second hand "DG" YZ250E pipe they would part with?

Any information appreciated..............

I'm pretty sure an F pipe will fit. I had a YZ250E and the F was the same basic engine and frame as the E.

You can do a visual check using the parts book line drawing here....

They look pretty close to me. The F seem to go straight longer at the head but might still fit.

Or speak kindlyand wave money at Lozza or GMC and have one designed/made up ;).

My recent research suggests the D & the E are the same but the F is different.
If I remember corrctly the D / E spigot fits into the barrel whereas the F pipe fits over a spigot on the barrel. The stinger section is a bit different shape as well, to clear different airbox shape, otherwise the pipes are similar.
