It's easy, just follow these steps

1, Click on the "Insert image" icon (That's the one below the slanted I)
    "[/img][/img]" will appear

2, Open a new web page to where your image is hosted and once it has, right click on the address bar and click "copy" from the drop
    down menu

3, Return to your "post reply" window and set your cursor to in between the " ] [ " of "[/img] [/img]" right click and click "paste" from the
drop down menu. A copy of the address to your hosted image should now appear
   eg.  "[/img width=800 height=600] http://w4.bikepics.com/pics/2008/12/20/bikepics-1513961-full.jpg [/img]"

Ted, this means you didn't copy the image URL. If you read the posts at the link that LWC3077 posted up it explains there are two options. If you are doing the one where you insert the image which is hosted on some other site, then you follow the instructions as above by Cyclegod.

But you have to make sure the image you want to display is shown in your browser at the site it's hosted, then select and copy the URL (the web address) from the address bar of your browser (ie where you type in web addresses).

Once it's copied, you can then place your cursor between the image tags, right click abd paste.

Easy peasy.

if the images are too big i resize with either microsoft photo editor or presto image folio. i use www.villagephotos.com so that requires uploaded photos to be under 250KB's

then i highlight and copy the URL in village photos

then i click the button below the italics button (second from left on bottom row) then dont click anywhere on the screen, then go to the edit button on internet explorer tool bar and select 'paste' and it will past the link to the photo in between these 2 symbols

[img] your link in here [img]

then click post

and your photo will appear on the screen. its so easy once you it a couple times

You know it seems to me that most photos saved from peoples cameras are bigger than that allowed in this forum. I read LWC..., CG, and VMX247 guides and I'm sure if performed enough times we would all master the skills, but why given all the confusion this causes and never-ending trail of 'asks for help' to this forum, don't the administrators just increasae the size of the pics allowed. Or is that only a product of the thinking of a PC retard like me?
Please explain why we need to go via umpteen dozen other programs just to decrease the size of our pics?

because big photos take up lots of space and take longer to upload/download. i try to resize mine by cutting out unessesary backround crap.
