Conversion re supercharging
« on: December 04, 2008, 08:44:06 pm »
When talking conversion of atmosphere to bar, re supercharging, do you use atmosphere {standard} "1 bar = 0.986 923 169 31 atmosphere [standard] "
or atmosphere {technical} 1 bar = 1.019 716 213 atmosphere [technical] ?  Thanks. Cheers Tim       (Damn is this SL125 going to go................

To convert most units into something else, you can type into the Google search bar. Very clever and useful.
E.g. "convert 1 atm to bar" and it gives you the answere directly: "1 atm = 1.01325 bar"

There is a clever little progam available for down load free called CONVERT . it has all conversions on it ,it is reallly good I use it alot.
Also why not turbo this as well as supercharge probably one of a 500 or 750 would work as with a supercharger you need a large A/R on the exaust . That would really be trick and fffffast. We got a 20 litre mitzi motor to 650hp this way.

Supercharging or turbo charging , doubles the capacity in most motorcycle sporting pursuits  ie 500cc becomes 1000cc OK, 750 becomes 1500 which then outside the allowable capacity for VMX. The supercharged Vincent sidecars  in classic speedway are 1000cc to start with.!!!! I did have the supercharged top end of my old drag bike 754 from years ago it was melted in a fire,,only got the Weber carby left it now resides on my sons Morris Minor Panel Van..... :)
Noticed reples list various fractional formulas :D
