Does anyone have the service limit length of the inner valve springs for a Honda XL250S '81? My book says 42.5mm but the inner springs as they are now are the same length as the outer springs, and that is 35.5mm (7mm... big difference for them to collapse). I checked with my local Honda dealer, but they said they don't have spec back that far.
I have a Cycleserv manual but I suspect it may be a misprint. If anyone has a Clymers or other manual they can double-check for me, I'd be much appreciated.
I believe other models of XL and XR around that vintage may be similar.
