Ok this is what im looking for. Im not sure im not sure if the light with the black rim made it onto the production modles? All the bike tests ive seen on DR 250 S show a chrome rim. I thought it might be the same as the US SP 250 but the part numbers appear different for all bits. The Australian light has a lens unit in the one ring bit the US light has a sealed beam unit mounted in one ring which is then mounted in the outer rim.
I don’t need the plastic shield, just the complete light. I reckon I can find all the parts as NOS items how ever I don’t want to just yet as the parts may be wrong. I learnt the hard way when I bought a NOS PE 250 B headlight shell and a NOS rim but it was too small to accept a standard universal 5 & 3/4 inch OD lens unit which is what I want. So before I go out and buy these DR light parts I want to be sure that I can fit a aftermarket universal 5 & 3/4 inch OD lens unit.
ideally i would like that one with the black rim but that picture is of a pre production bike and im not sure they did end up having the black rim.
So has any one of these DR 250 S headlights? It may be the same as DR 125 aswell?
Can anyone take any measurements?
Can any one lend me a rim off one of these lights? I would just need to quickly borrow it to see if the lens I want will fit and then I can return it ASAP at my expense.
