Honda TL125 sized for kids
« on: August 25, 2008, 09:55:23 pm »
Theres a bloke (a twinshock trials nut) I ride with who loves modifying TL Hondas and has a couple of quite neat full sized bikes that he competes on. He has made two of them exactly the same so he can quickly flog bits off one to keep the other one going during a trial without wasting time - sort of like a mobile spares supply.
Anyway, his son has grown big enough to be too big to ride a TY80 (the only twinshock trials mini bike), and because he is a Honda type person, Dan wanted his son to ride a Honda TL125 twinshock rather than a Yamaha TY175 like most youngsters who ride twinshock. So here are photos of young Jordan's pride and joy - a size reduced TL125 that looks suitably hot-roddish, and a lot like Dad's bikes as well.

That's nice! I used to have a TL125 I bought new from Uncle Ernie. What a great little playbike. All those 125 Honda 4-strokes were back then. I see from the Brit Classic Dirtbike magazine that TL125s are all the go over there. Wonder if there are many around over here? I'd love to get hold of one again. And I really wish I hadn't sold the TY175 I had a few years back. I bought it in the mid 90s and rode it for a while but there wasn't any real interest in twinshock trials then, and no-one to ride with...

Looks like Jordan's having a ball!

I thought a lot of kids would be riding these after something like a TY80 was too big...

Mate if it's not twinshock, it's just not on for Dan and Jordan.

There are any number of modern kids trials bikes from electric to auto 50s to geared 50s to geared 80s to 125s. None of them qualify for twinshock class though. Here is my youngest kid's electric bike at a trials demo day. When he is big enough it will be TY80 then TY175.
