VMX Unlimited
« on: September 23, 2020, 05:35:17 pm »
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has used this company recently ( VMX Unlimited ) ?  I ordered a Fork Dust Seal Kit weeks ago, for my 1975 CR 125M and now need them so I can start putting my bike back together  and have heard nothing, I have emailed , and called the mobile number on their site,
wondering if they are still around and legit?

Thanks

Steve

  Hi Steve
I haven't used them since Les sold that side of the business to, I think the blokes name was Alistair Maxwell from down the south coast area. (I may be wrong)  When Les owned the VMX Unlimited it was one of the better suppliers, sadly when they change hands that integrity isn't always there.  If he runs it as a one man operation, sometimes they can get over run and this can slow the service. anyway the members on here who have used him will let you know if this seller is  straight up or not.
  Good luck.
                        Zane
Everyday I find one more name to add to the list of people who piss me off.

I got some air filters for my mk11 bultaco 2 years ago. It may be that like many suppliers they are waiting for the stock to arrive from overseas. They are located in Finley just over the border from Victoria off the Nevell highwayftp://
Thumbs Up!

Thanks for the comments , I finally received a reply today from Alistair saying  he is waiting on stock, and did offer a refund ,
would anyone be able to advise me as to where I can get a Fork Dust Seal Kit for my 1975 CR125M ( I have checked on Ebay , seems plenty around for the 1976 Model but not the 75 Model )

Thanks Steve

Are you wanting fork seals or the wipers above the seals?
Chances are they would have been coming from DC Plastics who you can order from direct, fork seals are also available from all balls. Not being sure of the diameter of your forks makes finding the wipers a bit harder but there will be somewhere that can supply them

I will not use Vmx Unlimited, for the above reason stated above ...... they do not carry stock. Takes a deposit and then buys the parts in from supplier which could take up to a month
Sadly the Business is not what it used to be When Les operated it.

Unfortunately there are many companies that operate like VMX UNLIMITED .    Like So Cal MAICO . Good Prices on most parts ,  freight not bad but you could what 2/3 months for your parts.  The overall retail industry is all so at fault, no matter what you purchase. Always make sure it is in Stock before you pay.
Old Fart should have Checked first with AllBalls as they would most likely have the seals he wants in stock.  Then he could have ordered them from any Good M/C Shop.

On the other hand with the Covid Problems and Dock issues many products are in short supply .

For example i ordered a Expensive CD Player from Dick Smith 6 Months ago , still wanting for stock.
