CZ Aftermarket Head. Period Item?
« on: January 04, 2011, 10:22:40 am »
Is this a period part and therefore legal to put on a pre 70 bike or not?

Hopefully it'll end up in NZ so I can run 1 of my earlier barrels if the repaired 1 lets go, can't afford the moon money 6 stud barrels seem to fetch in the states nowadays
He had another 1 listed last week.
Pretty sure it's period but not sure on pre 70

Hi,
As long as you can find a photo, no problem, they were the hot gear for yellow tank 380's 71 /72
Don't get too excited though, the last JOK 5 stud radial finned head went for $350USD ex USA
maybe  someone will have a magazine article, pre 70,on them or an advert.
happy bidding
cheers

Whoever won it in the end paid more than twice what the 1 sold by the same seller the week before, looks like I'll have to go back to looking for a 73 barrel instead

A decent barrel, so far it's holding together after welding but a spare as insurance is always nice

Mines a 6 stud motor, have 2 sidepipe barrels bored out to 82mm.1 of these was fitted when my dad first bought the bike
Saw the motor you're talking about but US$1019.91 postage is a bit out of my price range  ::)

I managed to score 1 last month out of the states, came up for $80us so I grabbed it before I even had the sidepipe in my possession. Quite a bit heavier than the original head but will definitely give the bike a bit of period trickness

Looks good fitted to my sidepipe motor, weighs about 1/2kg more than the standard head. Will be interesting to see how it looks when the frame is back from repair & painted, will be running twin plug ignition which comes in from the sides
