Insurance for US
« on: March 13, 2019, 07:38:20 pm »
I'm heading over to the Don Matthews CZ World Championship in California next month & need to sort insurance for when I'm racing.
The only place here in New Zealand that provide cover is AON, now for the scary part, they want $1500nz for the day & a half coverage which is roughly half the cost of the airfares
Any suggestions of who to try for something a bit more managable

Insurance for what Tony? Your body or bikes?
If you love it, lube it.

The insurance I need is medical incase something was to go wrong. The second motocross is mentioned things get either very expensive or we don't have a policy that will cover you
I contacted ridersurance in the states who specialize in finding coverage for racers but they are only able to do annual policies where I'm only there for 1 weekend of racing

Doesn't sound excessive at NZ1500 if they are covering you for ambulance rides including in the air and hospital treatment. I assume extended travel insurance would cover any medical needs for return air trip.
If you love it, lube it.

long shot, Is it a FIM sanctioned event ? if it is M.A can arrange insurance, I used it in 2017 to compete in the world emergency services games at Glen Helen, was pretty reasonable price too from memory.
