TS400 stator fit TM400???

Does anyone know if the TS400 stator will fit the TM400???

i believe it will as it was a mod at the time to get more flywheel. a suzuki fan will need to confirm

Yes will fit straight on difference in the cranks was tm was not full circle crank half’s ts was bikes share a lot cases are the same bar tm or ts stamping they use a lot of the same parts common mod to install the ts ignition to tame it.

Got two tm400’s a 74 and the 71 orange one run my 74 stock because it’s scary fun haven’t finished my 71

i heard the real issue with the tm 400 was a woman like CDI curve, kept changing its mind at random creating low rev full advance issues resulting in sudden development of maximum horsepower....

A common misconception is that the TS 400 and TM 400 cranks were different. They were both mutton leg cranks. ( Ie: Not full circle). I have a 72 TS400 J  and have built and ridden TS & TM suzukis for many years. In fact I have a factory Manual that is for the TS/ TM 400. It has an exploded view of the 400 engine at the back, with dashed lines around the components that are different between TS & TM. There are dashed lines around the Carby, the flywheel & Ignition and the decompressor valve in the head, as well as first gear gears which are different TS and TM. Rest of the engine is identical. TS flywheel should go straight onto a TM Crank.

Thanks for the info guys.

The reason for the enquiry is that I want to add a TM400 engine (that I have spare for my TM400) and place it into a street bike, (café Style ) and the TS ignition would give me battery and headlight supply and a crazy sounding bike.
