Engineering idea (help me out)

I'm building a roof rack on my Transit Van. (VMX hauler)

The problem is the "pads"on the roof where the rack bolts  are slightly angled.
The uprights I've made are 65x65mm. To get them vertical I need something tapered under them.
Alloy plate 65x65 tapering from 1mm on one edge, to 5mm on the other edge would be perfect, but short of getting them machined as custom parts I can't source anything like that.

Whatever solution I use has to be able to take a little weight.

I need 10 for the 5 crossbars.

Any ideas gurus?

Tack them to some rhs and put them under a good band saw at the right angle.

Someone came up with using nylon. Like a cutting board. The bandsaw wouldn't have to be as good. Finish them on a linishing belt.

You can buy a nylon bread board from coles and then use a wood plane. Or cut the angle on the brackets so they line up and re-weld.

you can buy tapered washers that they use on heavy angle iron and c section when bolting things on can't recall the size but a good engineering supply would have them the ones I've used are steel

most bearing suppliers carry nylon tube (solid) in all sizes, just set your saw to the right angle and slice a few off... ive used it to make chain rollers for the husky. you can get graphite impregnated too.

Some good ideas here.
I'm happy with the way it all bolt together. Just need some wedges to make it perfect.
If I could get a meter of 65x65mm nylon or plastic I could slice the required wedges off with my drop saw.
Might not be easy to find the required "stock". Any suggestions?

i bought 250mm of 70mm nylon tube or rod from Bendigo Bearings a couple of years ago, they had a bit lying around.

Thought about casting a set? Airdry clay for the plug. Two piece silicon mold. Urethane goes in... voila
