I have fitted several Mikunis to Montesa bikes - Cappras only but the H6 engine is almost identical in many ways to the VB360. I have used the following system and it always seems to work well.

The more restrictive muffler on the H6 along with the restricted air box (unless you have removed the extra cover which were mostly gone at time of purchase)

Standard Mikuni 36mm
- slide standard 2.5
- standard needle - 6FJ6 - start at centre clip position you may need to go to 6DH3 if still lean in the mid range
- *** needle jet one size richer - 159Q6
- standard pilot jet 35 - suggest starting at 40
- main jet start with larger 330 but you may need to adjust down as low as 280

As you do ;) ;D

The bike will perform better with a BING although the Mikuni will get far (far, far) better fuel consumption.

I knew a guy that fitted a Lectron flat slide back in 1978 to his 360 H6 due to the poor fuel range. The bike performed much better with the Bing but the Lectron stayed on it so he didn't have to carry fuel and the beast still had plenty of go.

I ended up with the bike and still have the Lectron somewhere

Bring the Mikuni to the performance level of the Bing.
