Twin Air air filters
« on: February 10, 2017, 08:29:31 pm »
I currently use a Uni filter air cleaner element on my 74 CR125m, but am thinking of trying a Twin Air element. Interested to hear any ones thoughts, advice or experience using the Twin Air element. At present I use the No Toil cleaning and oil product to service the Uni filter, thanks.

I had a unfiltered on my CZ for a short time, it dissolved in a spot towards the bottom of the inner foam. Swapped to twin air & had no problems in the 5 or so years since. Added benefit on the CZ is extra filter area as top cap is not used
Changed the 465 to them as well & found them easier to fit to the cage

We have used both Twin Air And UNI Filter on our Maicos for Many years.

   Both are Very Good products.

Pros and Cons.  UNI lasts longer than TA. TA flows better.    Uni is best on Very dusty and Very wet tracks.

TA easyer to get into non standard Air Boxs.  But cages hard and expensive to get for Maicos.   NO problem with UNI.

Do not use Petrol to Clean. Not Safe . It dissolves the bonding Glue.  Use Prepwash.  20 lt is cheap from rare spares. Dry as soon as possible. Do not let them sit in cleaner over night.

Try to use a non hydrocarbon filter oil. They last longer.  5 years is about max use by date but  always inspect  after cleaning.

Note. That CRF Honda Filters will not last full year. With the best of care.  Goes with most Jap Filters.  If cleaned and Raced every Week.

If the Filter Goes Hard or Very Soft and also starts to tear . BIN IT.                                                                                                                                         .

If the Filter goes Hard or Very Soft Bin It.
