Seat restoration/foam
« on: January 30, 2017, 10:19:54 pm »
Anyone know a good source for seat foam. In the past tried high density foam from Clarke rubber but it's to soft.
Looking at a cover / foam kit from US but it's about $300 to get here.
What are the good auto upholsterers charging to make a cover and cut foam to suit.

Im pretty sure you can buy a blank foam from various people, last time I needed a big foam I used an aw maico tall foam for what I needed, so that would be chippy now. I think peter schoene had blanks as well

I made a foam from a couple of those workshop knee pads. Glued them together with contact cement and finished with the bandsaw and linisher.
If you love it, lube it.
