CR480 slight backfire

I started my 1983 CR480 up after 11 months and both times it started I got a slight backfire before it fired up a few kicks after that. Seemed to run fine after starting up, but should I check the timing?

every Yamaha of that era and capacity usually gives a great big backfire...your lucky. I wouldn't stress.
