Tyre Bead Breaker Assistance / Loan - Brisbane
« on: June 27, 2016, 08:38:35 pm »
Hi guys

I am looking to restore a few sets of rims and need to strip tyres off rims to start the process, but don't have the right gear for this part of the job.

If there is someone in Brisbane that has a bead breaker and some expertise in using it that would be able to help me that would be much appreciated. I can bring all wheels to you and happy to give you something for your trouble.

I'm located @ Cannon Hill (Brisbane) but can travel.

Many thanks in advance
Charlie

Hey mate, buy a few tyre levers and a bead buddy. Leave the wheel in the sun for a bit to warm the tyre up. And watch this vid a few times

A rubber mallet and heavy work boots breaking the bead isn't that difficult, however old tyres go hard.

Or quick action clamps can be useful as well.

Fancy!
Not fast, but probably good on recalcitrant beads. (I've had beads almost vulcanized to the rim!)
