XL350 Cam conversion
« on: August 07, 2015, 09:26:23 pm »
Hi all,
Had a cam shaft on my Honda XL350 go south at Dargle two weeks ago, I'm thinking I might do a Megacycle needle bearing conversion, parts are easy enough to order but I am looking for someone to do the machine work. Can anyone recommend a shop here in Oz where they have had this work done before?

I got mine done at a specialist engine shop in Ballarat. While the work was spot on, it was a bit on the expensive side.

Try Stacker MC's in Ringwood Victoria. They have been doing the mod for years and have a jig set up already made for the job. Sorry, but I don't have their number.

Thanks for the leads, I will check them all out. And your right about it being a "bit expensive". Hopefully it will pay off on the track.

Even though it's an expensive exercise, it will pay on the track and make the old girl last a lot longer. I recommend getting the adjustable cam wheel with your new cam as well. It makes timing the cam so much easier.
