Awesome footage. No wonder they had trouble getting ambulance staff back then, they were all dressed like Mr Whippy.
Interesting to note that all of the riders had slim waists and look more like Kate Moss whereas current VMX riders have realised the performance and stability advantages of carrying additional ballast. This way, bikes are in contact with the ground almost constantly and don't seem to get thrown around as much in those deep rutted sections.
If I'm not mistaken the ACU has a lot to answer for and surely breached their duty of care by not feeding these poor undernourished little waifs with carbs and beer.
