Tyres & MOMS

I had a visit from a gentleman who is affiliated with MA who came to run the tape over different brands of trials tyres and I was told that a submission is being prepared for MA in regards top to tyre dimensions and block sizes, spacing etc.
This should lead to some entertaining debate down the track I am sure,

I always thought there was a land/sea ratio ruling?

The FIM rules for trials have the land/sea details for trials tyres, but I think that only the width is mentioned in the MOMs for trials.
It is a bit tricky nowadays because there is at least one rear trials tyre that is wider than 4" (and it is marked as being 110/100).
It is a crap tyre for trials so no-one cares, but I can see it might be a contentious issue for dirt track racing
There is also the KTM Freeride rear tyre which looks a bit like a competition trials tyre but has much bigger gaps between the blocks

I think the arrival of a Kenda tyre called of all things the "equilibium" designed for use on trails has got the bells ringing, bigger blocks, further apart, soft as licorice, I know I would hate to be behind a couple of them.
