Darryl mate you missed it.
Glaciers are on land and the scientists were sending drone subs under them to measure the temps. :o
First time they have done this but the temps were higher than expected. ???

I think my point still stands.  "Someone (ultimately me, the taxpayer)" has given them the Money to do it, (No matter how ridiculous/impossible).

Re: These Goals

Totally commendable & I whole-hardheartedly agree.......Just cant see that just Fanatical objections to CO2 will provide the real solutions to these.

Cheers, DJ

Then they tell you you're right, but it's not important.
Then they tell you it is important, but they knew it all along."

While desirable, many of the items on Nathan's list are not necessarily related to CO2 emissions. Bear in mind that CO2 is NOT a pollutant in the usual sense of the word - an increase from 300ppm to 500ppm is absolutely undetectable in most normal situations and has no impact on livability of cities, sustainability, rainforests, clean air and water and so on.

Reducing CO2 emissions is likely to occur naturally in any case as oil becomes more costly to extract and alternatives are sought. US emissions have already fallen due to economic slowdown and gas.

The question really is not that there are consequences from fossil fuel emissions but the likely severity of these and the urgency around change. I'd observe that so far consequences are not at the level the IPCC has pegged (and indeed even the IPCC has become more circumspect about projections) and that we can afford to take a more considered and cost effective approach. Especially here in Australia where quite literally we could turn the country off tomorrow and make no difference.

Thank Goodness that at least we have the EPA  ::)
So who can be trusted.
Safest approach is no one I say.

Beyond the air that we breath, there is nothing more precious than fresh water
and more to the point keeping it that way, particularity impossible to remedy precious ground water.

AGL just got the go ahead to fracture the crap out of our sub stratas just north of Newcastle, Gloucester.
Already they are ordered to immediately HALT. The EPA have detected illegal and of intolerable poisons.
Would you trust the likes of AGL to continue around one of our most pristine water resources? No transparency.

Do we really want to trust this lot around our food chain?

As you say Mick. Trust None of the money grabbing, climate stuffing, fascist bullies not one bit.
I know 3 things for certain. The sky is blue, water is wet and people lie. Anybody risking ruining OUR auqifas? (underground water ways) should be told in no uncertain terms to piss off and don't come back. If the money grabbing bastards didn't sell all our natural gas to China for less than what it cost at wholesale in Australia, there is obviously an oversupply of gas so therefore we don't need anymore for a few years yet. Or are they lying to us worker ants again?
Arrogance.....A way of life for the those that having nothing further to learn.

OK Satire    look it up in a dictionary ;)

Not satire or humour ,I  actually agree with Nathan’s list! and hey I would cause to be "reused" or "recycled" more items in one working day than many here in a year, well it's my job....
Also I live in a small country town that’s reticulated mains water supply is (shock horror) from deep lead aquifer bores.

Damn it!  they should never have let um start sand mining those bloody whales from the open cuts.....

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

It might be time to take al of the boats out of the water to drop the ocean level.  ;)
If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.
