CR250 1989 clutch cover Wanted and what other years fit
« on: November 27, 2014, 07:42:18 pm »
Gday,
I have looked at the part numbers for 87 88 and 90, they all seem to be different to 1989. Does any one know if other models fit. Someone told me that 1993 will fit - it seems unlikely  to me
Cheers
I have a soft spot japanese mxers with aluminium tanks. Two stroke classic Dirt Track...

There was a new one on eBay a couple of days ago. Think he wanted about 400 though

You can definatley by later model that fits.

I think it is 90 that is not magnesium

90 and 91 will fit, 92 onwards was a different motor entirely.
Honda did make small changes to the way the PV mechanism worked during the life of the HPP (86 to 91)
So using other model covers may require other parts to keep the PV working

Agreed. I have a 91 model alloy cover on my 89 CR250 and am enjoying a magnesium-sidecover free lifestyle :)

I also have fitted a post 90 cover.90+91 are the same style motor as pre 90

92 on is different as per what brendon has said

I have another (post 90) used inner clutch cover in absolute  mint condition I am happy to move on. pm me if you are interested. Im chasing $200 for it, which wont quite cover what it cost me but near enough.
