Have just flicked though the JUST BIKES  Aust Bike Marketplace magazine page 37.
Cheney BSA Weslake 500.A very rare MX bike from the late Eric Cheney.
Based on the BSA B44 motor with a Weslake 500 topend.$12,000.

that ones been up in here before from another descusion, that guy brough in a few in his shipment has the b50 as well.  bit pricey all of em.

Freaky, I did a search for it before my post and couldn't find it, so threw it up on the forum again.
Some people will pay that kind of money  ::) or the market reflects like the Cheney TM 400.
Never can tell what will happen, some just collect em too 8)
Be very interesting too see what prices are paid in 20 years time.If they are high we can all live at real nice nursing homes ;D

Sure it's pricey but it's got a couple of things in its favour that make it worth the money. 1: It's a rare 490 Weslake BSA conversion. These things are as rare as shit, especially in anything other than a MK4 Metisse, which the conversion was especially made for. There wouldn't be too many of these engines in anything other than a Metisse. 2: It's in immaculate condition, not a penny to spend. This bike will only appreciate in value. Sure it's a top end of the market bike but like I've said before, try and build one for the price.

Firko do you know its past history, has it come from the big land of US or the UK. ???

I've got no idea of its history. I have a vibe that it could be a US bike though. The Yanks tend to build 'em a bit neater.

Doesnt that seller bring in bikes by the container from the US ? i know he deals in a lot of US streeters etc.   I thought those model where a bit flaky in the bottom end/gbox as they were 250 to start with and they keep sticker bigger tops on them  or was that the B50 ?

The BSA B44 engine can't be that bad Freaky, they won two World 500 titles and are as reliable as a 179 Holden. Same story for the B50.
