Pretty sure there is only 1 Maico rod common across 250-490  ;)  Longer your rod the better.......... ;D

LOL  ;D ;D

Hi Simo,
Rang my wife and got the details from her. The ProX kit number is 03.2304. The OEM reference is 24Y-11651-01.
Pete.

Awesome, thanks Pete :)

The first option is a lot of dollars just to be able to use the letters NOS, especially as it's all unseen.

Option 2 makes a mockery of my first list, he states the rod is 125 long but others here say the rod should be 130 long(Yes Simmo, rods are measured centre to centre), he then says he can do rod kits for the 400 as well so I think a lot of those early year 250's should be a different rod.

I didn't do any homework on these just merely passed on the links. Without sounding flippant it's up to Simo to check with the guy if it is indeed the right one. The second guy says he now has 400 kits. Like anything we buy, especially ebay an OS etc. you need to do as many checks as possible.

No different than buying from a local shop when it comes to VMX stuff. I had an almost toe to toe with the Yamaha guy because he said the head gasket for a YZ125F & E were the same. I said they weren't & he went on about him being the expert & that's what the part list saying. I made him order the part number I had & he made me pay in full upfront. The part turned up, it was correct & the so called expert was nowhere to be seen.

My point is that with the old stuff you have to do as many checks as humanly possible & even then it may still be wrong.

I got a kit from a UK web site a few years back. I'll see if I can find it.

Wasn't trying to challenge you, just had doubts that my list was wrong when I first posted it and the e-bay seller added to my suspicions and was hoping someone could confirm which models were correct for the rod length.
