Im replacing the existing swingarm on my 81 RM project bike as the front of the front bearing housing is cracked. I can only assume its the correct fitment on the bike as i bought it. Ive compared the look of it to the 81 parts diagram and it looks ok. Ive included a pic which shows a little scalloped out area in the cross section behind the shock.
I recently picked up another swingarm for 50 bucks which is supposed to be for an 81 model but it doesnt have the scalloped out area in the cross section behind the shock and is about 20 mm longer. I got this from a wreckers and its was marked 81 RM250.
Now i dont know whether the one on the bike is original although im fairly confident it is, but whats this other one ?? Ive been looking through parts diagrams and dammed if i can find something close. It has the ridges down the side of the arms and full floater decals consistent with 81/82 but buggered if i know, and sorry i dont know how to upload pics.
