 I had one of those Italian $650 things 15 AMP I bought for the Servo, used it 7 days a week for over ten years with regular use with rattle gun and air drill etc never had any trouble with it. Excellent.
 I bought another when I got out of the rat race, should last me out!.

    The ones I wouldn't have are the direct drive, noisey things.

  Ross my old compressor finally shit it's self today, up in a cloud of smoke.  This is the compressor I'm looking at as a replacement.  Being 42 cfm it might be over kill but at $1000 plus $140 delivery it's not that much more than an average 17 cfm and a good bit cheaper than a good brand.
