PVL or HPI, I run both and have no issues. The connectors on the HPI are a lot nicer but the HPI has the CDI unit separate from the coil so you have to find a place to mount it.

Have two of these to replace the motoplat on my Monties. They have external flywheels (which the Monties need) and lighting option is available. They have been excellent and easy to fit. Also have PVL but don't like the lack of flywheel but excellent ignition.

Stick with Motoplat, I've had an Electrexworld external rotor on my 490, at most 10 meetings, when would'nt
rev out. Sent it back to Electrexworld, who tested it and sent it back saying nothing wrong with it. Put an old Motoplat on, ran perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently put a HPI (Horsepower Ignition) on my 490.  It now kick starts from cold after about five kicks and tickling carby twice.  When I first fitted it worked great for about three rides then it wouldn't start at all.  Anyway it ended up being crank seal. I split the cases and found big end was worn as well, replaced both seals and main bearings too.

Anyway I would recommend HPI, also they are reasonably priced if you get them direct from Belgium.

Google HPI and you will find them, they have ignitions for almost everything.
