86 CR500 RG

Picked up a 500 project bike today, missing seat, shock, front brake caliper amongst other things.

What parts are compatible with other CRs, ie will an 85 or 86 250 shock fit, same with seat etc is 125 the same?

As far as I know 85/86 CR125/250/500 all have the same fittings & length shock but the damping & spring rates are more than likely going to be different between the different capacaties, 84 model shocks are shorter & the 87 model had the built in sideways resevoir,The seat foam on the 125 is lower than the 250/500 but the base may be the same,I know for sure the 250 & the 125 have the same base as I tried my mates 250 seat on my 125 & it fit spot on ;), Brake calipers are pretty well interchangeable between 84 right up to fairly late model CRF stuff I'm thinking,And most XR ones too, Do your measurements first before buying though ;) ;) :)
