This is the best live band I ever saw. Nothing at all to do with VMX but at least it's the right era. Radio Birdman live at Paddington Town Hall 1976.

Man, what an awesome band were Radio Birdman. I remember seeing them at Parramatta Park at the old free Double J concerts in the late 70's, Punk at it's full on,out of control best.

Maybe I'm getting old or my memory is fading, but one of the very best concerts I've ever been to was last December at the Enmore in Sydney, Zappa plays Zappa. Dweezil Zappa doing a Frank Zappa concert with a couple of original Mothers of Invention members, including Steve Vai. Stunningly brilliant.

I went to all the Double J outdoor concerts, north sydney, parramatta, they were all great.  Wouldn't it be good to get Mac Cocker to a vmx event?  He could call the race.....except he'd go to sleep mid-race.

Anyone remember that fabulous radio 'play' someone at Double J put out in the late seventies - 'From Rangoon To Grafton', about some guy's drugged out road trip down the north coast to sydney?  How good was that program?  How many of us have done that trip???? - easier to say how many haven't.  i'm sure its on the web somewhere...
