S12 rear can be made to last if you don't punish it, and they still grip well even when lots of knobs have been torn/torn off.

The only time I can't make them last is on hard MX tracks when you can't help but over-spin the rear.

I'm going to try a 404 next - lots of people are saying good things about them.

Pirelli scorpion mid softs work well all year round on this side of the ditch & are generally about $20 cheaper than Michelin s12s
