So far you have Maicos, Ktms, Bmws, Holdens, Fords to choose from.  ;D ;D
Buy both and decide for yourself??  ???

I think Simo gave the correct answer earlier.  Buy the yellow one.  ;)

Ok, if I was going to buy a suzuki over the Yamaha.
 suzuki A, B, C or an N model what would be your choice.

depends on what class you planned to race...... the best plan is to get the bike as close to the age cut off as possible unless there is an well known issue with a particular model.... id go N as it will have the most suspension travel....best for old bodies...!! :D ;D you need to sort what racing (if any) you want to embrace.

The simple answer is if you want a Pre 78 a B model is the one to get.  If you are going EVO really a T is better but you didn't ask that.  The N is the newer of the models you asked about but they are ugly the T looks a 100% better.

 I went last sunday to the Viper meeting and enjoyed myself, I got the fire in the belly again to have a ride at viper, and fishin for your thoughts on these two models.

Pre 78, buy a Yamaha. Easy to keep going and as good as anything else that era to ride. Why are you looking at later stuff Dave? If you want Evo, again buy Yamaha or Husqvarna. Easy to keep going and buy parts for. It's up to the rider to make a bike a winner.

Dave,

Rider numbers is Viper over the years are slowly heading towards pre85 and pre90.
If you were to ride Viper, the RM/N or T would fit into EVO & pre85
VCM still have a large following of pre78 riders so your RM/A or B or the YZ/D would fit right in.
Also a pre78 bike will allow you to ride pre78 classes in Viper, VCM & CSC.
I have a YZ400D which I'm happy with, the pre78 bikes are getting a little thin on the ground but in saying that, you walked past a YZ250D for sale at Barrabool on Sunday.
Between the RM or the YZ I think it will come down to what ever you can get.  The YZ would be a bit better as far as parts availability goes.
