cooling system additives

anyone used chemi weld and the likes on magnesium cased bikes that have corrosion issues around water pump area.couldnt hurt anything i would imagine.unless others had  a problem.

Many chemicals react adversely with Mg. Mg is highly volatile and a potent hydrogen producer (go big boom). Hard to put the fire out as well. Mg is an Alkaline metal so stick clear of anything acidic.  Perhaps look for a completely useless Mg part and painting a small amount on it before sticking it in your engine. Also check the MSDS for the product before use.

the one thing I have heard is to clean the mag surface spotlessly and then ppc or powdercoat if you can and then reassemble very carefully to avoid breaking the surface. or get an allooooominum one.
