Newbie from South Africa
« on: May 14, 2014, 10:08:28 pm »
Hi all

Decided to join the forum because I recently developed the terminally illness called VMX bike restoration.

My first bike was very rough and consisted of  bringing a 1988 KX250 back to life, not really a resto but still fun.

My latest is a 1997 RM250 H, got it in boxes and I'm gong to try and make this one pretty as well as mobile, budget permitting of course because or local currency suck and shipping cost is sometime more that the list price for the item  :'(

Anyway will probably ask lots of questions ect ect.

Regards

Marius

Welcome Marius.

You have come to the right place for treatment, or to ensure you don't get over your addiction in a hurry.  ;)

As far as your projects go, ( and the rand for that matter) trading may well be an option.  I know there are a few classic vmx bikes / parts floating around in SA, there in may lie your opportunity.

What is the VMX scene like there?
Retiring ... all bikes and parts must go.....  1984 KX250's (2 off) and Resto Project 1983 KX125's (3 off)

PM for details

I think its very small, but it is getting popular. I cant really comment to be honest as I've just arrived. But it does seem like something that I would like to get into.

For the moment I'll just be contend with building my project.
