Is this a trials bike?
« on: July 08, 2008, 06:40:04 pm »
I found this image and it's listed as a 200cc 1966 Bultaco 35 El Tigre metralla - trials.
Is that correct? Are they a trials bike?

If so I'll need Graeme to move the post into the new 'twinshock trials' thread...

It looks like a combination of at least two different Bultaco models.
If it is an El Tigre, it's a trail bike.
If it's a Metralla, it's a road bike. I couldn't see any trials bike genes there.

So it's a hybrid? I like it - I can picture me on that, wearing a skivvie and a puddin' basin helmet going down the shops to get milk...
I'd pull a root for sure!

Its not a trials bike - its like and early dual purpose road bike - made for the Spanish home market. It was only made for a couple of years in 1966 to 1968. There was only one model El Tigre. The exhaust looks pretty similar to the early M49 Sherpa T though.

Cheers,
