CR250m crankpin
« on: April 29, 2014, 11:17:01 am »
A mate snapped the rod in his elsinore at Taupo in the weekend, has a rod but no crankpin for it.
I searched for info on the rod kit here & came across a post from BigK about a ProX kit that fits along with RM250N/T Suzukis, are the pins the same as Alphasport lists the crankpin as available?

Crank pins are easily sourced and able to be bought separately. You may not be able to get exactly the right length, but a few mm shorter is no problem and even a longer one can be ground to the correct length. I can measure one if you don't know the correct length?
Cheers,

That would be helpful, he has the crank being checked for straightness at the moment & a set of cases on the way to replace the damaged set

the crank pins are the same as later model cr250c hot rods sell a crank rebuild kit for the next cr250s and you just add a 4mm spacer plate and away you go,just dont know which one exactly

Just measured 3 CR250M cranks, all measure 52mm installed width, so a 52mm pin or a tad shorter will get you out of trouble. I also measured a 79 CR250R crank which measured 58mm, so not all the same.
Cheers,
