« on: April 24, 2014, 10:04:44 pm »
A few of us from tassie are coming over this year on road bikes to the Gp thinking of arriving on Monday before & doing a bit of a trip. What is there to see in Vic or lower NSW.Not worried about the roads so much but no boring hwys. Any good bike or car museums ,any racing etc we want to be back to the Gp track on Thursday. cheers George

Dig out your maps, head north east out of Melbourne, look for Marysville, then Lake Eildon, then across to Jamieson, down to Mansfield, then east to Hotham, up and over to Omeo, north out of Omeo then up over mountain again to Mt Beauty, those give you the best of the Vicco high country, then north east to Tallangatta, east to Kancoban, east to Threadbo, east to Cooma, then north west  to Cabramurra, south to Kancoban and then back into Vicco and the gp, getting the idea?????

These are the best road riding roads I have seen in the south east of Aus. If you don't mind some dirt there are some nice side roads to ride too. If you like going slowly and looking at scenery the Great Ocean Road is ok too, nice road, lots of cops and caravans.....

Wayne.

turn left off the boat and go down the ocean road for a spin to apollo bay then turn around and come back! then go up along the coast to Gippsland then turn left and go to Dargo and stay in the pub over nite. head back to melb and Phillip Island is on the way back.

that should keep you busy.... ;D
