why does the collective group here suspect IT 490 Yamahas are worth 10K? they were a nice bike at the time but needed tuning / suspension work to make them great.

everytime I see one for sale its close to 10K and I just cant figure it out...is there something I don't know? limited numbers? last model blues?

I am waiting for enlightenment (and a reason they are so expensive!) :o

Is 10K a lot of money to legally ride a very reliable, easy to get bits for 500cc 2T on the road to get to your riding spots?

You could always build up one and stop, dollar wise, when you think it's good enough for you. Which will be around the money they are asking anyway.

Or I guess you could just slip down to the Yammy shop and buy a new one.

got my 400 on the road for 3K, makes the yammie look something else...cant figure it out unless your a haha tragic I spose.

I would contemplate shelling out 10k for a immac husky 510 twin shocker I guess.... ( wife wouldn't that's for sure ;D :D)

A mate down the road has one in pretty bloody nice nic, original with factory exhaust, speedo, shocks etc...all the important bits. Wanna start writing that cheque!? ;D ;)

Being somewhat of an IT enthusiast, and ex owner of an IT 490, can't say I've ever seen them go for that much. Most for sale are in average condition and usually fetch $3-4K, anything more than that....well it would have to be very special.

its probably not that I look for them all that often but more that I only see these blinged specials pop up on gumtrees roundabout.. so I may be getting selective advertising??? (ive never owned a Yamaha...)

DDR had 1 for 10K a while ago, there was one on ebay I saw ages a go for 8.5K and gt has one for 10k now...just got me thinkin... need to stop that!
