Baja Bound
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:25:00 pm »
Hi, quick report on a ride trip we are on.
Went to the SC where Chad Reed had his first win.
Great day with the pits and displays. Great to see
How much local support Chad gets from the guys
In the USA he is right up there with local stars.

After this we did a ride with Tim Morton from Baja Bound Moto.
Picked us up in San Dieago and we rode 1400 + miles down the
Baja peninsula over 8 1/2 days. If you like single tracks that would
Make Norm Watts smile, then beach's like no other, then Whoops from
The 1000 track this ride has it all. Scenery from every spagetti western
You have ever seen. Venture 50 mm of the track and your Cactus!!
They go thru your boots, hand guards, and your body !!
If your interested in doing over 1400 miles with out the guide looking at
A map look at Baja Bound or Tim Morton on face book.

Baja is a great ride!! I did it in 2011 with Go Baja Riding. One of the other riders on the tour offered me a ride on the 1000 (clubby class) last Nov but unfortunately unforeseen circumstance meant the team couldn't run :'( :'( :'( I have been offered the 500 and 1000 again this year so with luck I might get over!

I too would recommend it too anyone thinking about it!! Food is awesome and beers are under a $1!!

Inflation may have hit Baja!! Beer price have gone up.
We have been paying $2 to $3.50 this is normally a guide
To where you stay or prices are on the rise!!
Still cheap by our standards.

I've ridden the Baja Peninsular a number of times . My favourite used to be the Ensenada to San Felipe section (or visa versa) back in the 70's but I've been told that it's pretty lame these days. Baja's a great bit of riding country.

Hi Neil

Was a young Brisbane guy named Dave Allen there with his mates?  Was talking with him a couple of weeks ago and said he'd also done th Baja ride recently.
