Read my post above, they are the only ones you can get now, it's not cheap but they pay, I have been off work for 10 months now and get my cheque every month, they will pay until you reach the age of retirement or you are 100% fixed up.....combined STOP paying after 9 months [it's in there small print.....cunning bastards].

The old way CICof A covered ther risk was that would only cover groups, for example they would go to a work place, insure a minimum No. of people which may contain1 or 2 customers who 'played football, raced motorcycles or flew light planes' or stuff like that. If they couldn't sign up enough in the group to spread the risk , they wouldn't take on a small group.
