84 CR125 & 250 shock interchange?

If I had an 84 CR125, could I fit an 84 CR250 shock to it?

I think the 125 had a nice KYB but the 250 a bad Showa if I remember rightly.

I have a spare shock from my 84 125 (if you just need a shock not the upgrade to the 250 shock)

I'm kicking ideas around - mostly they involve not fixing my CR250 before the Nationals, but buying one of the cheapish CR125 runners that are for sale and using the 250's shock and forks....

Yes, this is "VMXer logic" at it's best/worst. :)
