250 VG parts
« on: November 11, 2008, 06:21:46 pm »
Have you noticed the 250VG parts on ebay lately.  looks like almost a complete bike in bits.  Not a bad condition white tank, too.  12 hrs to go, quite a few bids, anyone from here after them?

Man o man, I could sure use the forks off of that VG, especially the rubber
mounted top crown.  I can imagine what it would cost to get to the states!

Going by the prices, it's pretty obvious that the owner will get more for the bike selling it off a piece at a time rather than as a whole unit. It's a sad indication of todays market. I bought a Rickman frame from the US and it's in absolute mint condition with not the slightest blemish on the nickel plating. Another mate bought the wheels which were equally perfect. I'd say that the seller split a perfect, original bike because it's worth more as parts....Sad but true.

Yes this happens a lot on ebay, its no different to what wreckers do.

i am actually considering doing same  (its a shame i agree) with one of my 250's if i can get some free time. the parts are worth shit loads more than the bike is as a race ready unit.
