This bike was traded at the shop and i figured we've got more chance of selling on here than to a walk in customer. The bike was set up for adv riding by the fella we traded it from, accessories are mostly hand made and a pretty good job done of them. We dont have any mechanical history on the bike and can only go by physical inspection to grade the bike, you are welcome to come and do the same. I have ridden the bike and it does everything it should, for long trips the seat would be a little stiff but thats easy to fix. PM me here or call me on 0439 109 254. Cheers, Brendan

Goes great , a real buzz to ride  but expensive to fix  &  engines wear at a rapid rate ,  in spite of regular maintenance.
  Would not be an ideal platform for an adventure bike,  in my opinion

A friend of mine has an '04 550 Husaberg  enduro bike .
Goes great , a real buzz to ride  but expensive to fix  &  engines wear at a rapid rate ,  in spite of regular maintenance.
  Would not be an ideal platform for an adventure bike,  in my opinion

You're mate must be doing something wrong. Those 'Bergs are reliable as anything on the market & it's not unusual to see them with 15,000+ klms on them untouched.

Berger engine lifespan is like BigK says....a good service schedule and  they last....I have a 2000 FC501 and it's still going strong.....only had rings, valves and timing chain. My brother had an 05 FE650 that would pull your arms out of there sockets....he did over 10,000 km's without a problem. That's a lot of bike for 2.5K.

I know of 2 x 550's with well over 10k of hard bush riding, untouched. Great bikes. I once timed laps on natural terrain MX on a 450, 550 and 650 it was very surprising that the 450 did the fastest time, it didn't feel like it.

There isn't anything wrong with the reliability of a 'Berg, the problem is the person who maintains, or doesn't maintain the beast. They are a race bred machine and need to be maintained as such. I still have my '03 FE501 which has had nothing more than a top end rebuild, cam chain and a clutch set. It still goes hard and will beat any modern 450F if I ask it to, which is much more than I can say for the WR450F that I stupidly decided to use as my next enduro mount. Nothing but problems and piss poor handling.
