Toy Hauler/Base Station ever built one?

While having a few beers I was pondering buying a toy hauler (until I saw the price)

This got me thinking about building a new trailer.
Maybe a 5 bike/ 3 bike with a bit of a lounge up from with a basic tv and stereo.

Has anyone built one? I am interested in any design pics etc

I'm not good on advice as I have perfected how to take something simple and over complicate it, but I will say, do your homework on weights, loadings and capacities as it is real simple to get carried away and end up with something way beyond what you originally envisaged.

I built this trailer a few years back

I think it is pretty similar work just bigger and more complicated

Why not just start with a good caravan and just modify it to take bikes.  I have already seen some done like this.  If it is a wide van you can just load the bikes from the side.  Less hassle than starting from nothing.

Yeah but have you ever pulled a van apart?
They are made cheap as.
Chassis is good but the sides etc are crap

Paul I just finished building one holds 1 sidecar or 3 solos with cabin at the front for sleeping. I have photos from start to finish I can send you, plus all the suppliers that I used, I don't know how to post them on here but I can email them to you or anyone that can put them up.

Here you go.  Take it to Metalink for a chassis strengthen and longer drawbar for gas, fuel, battery and bicycles.  Put a 1-1.2m door in it, take out the bunks or have them fold up, move the fridge and sink to the centre or take out the dinette and put it there. 
Put in a bulk head across the roof and down the wall near the door.  If the frame and the rest of the van is in good nick you'll have a toy hauler for about $10000 depending on what you want in it and how much you do yourself.
IMO just go for a normal pin back door and use a plank.  The drop down doors that work as a ramp are heavy and are always in the way when down.  You could make the door with a normal size door inside it so when the bike aren't in it, it becomes a normal van.  I would also put in a slide out fridge BBQ under the bed.
