TRIPLE CLAMPS
« on: January 28, 2014, 11:07:27 am »
Anybody know the weather I can put 77 clamps on my 75 GP. Are the tapered bearings different size from the ball bearings in the 75.

Huskys didn't go to tapered roller head stem bearings until '78. The '77 CR250/390s were the first of the leading axle fork models, but they still had ball bearing steering head bearings. The '77 triples would probably fit the '75 frame, but you would have to use leading axle forks with '77 triples, otherwise the geometry would be all wrong.

Hi Mark,  I'm stuffing around with the XL350 motor in a 75GP frame, motor is in but the front is giving me a pain ,75 triples are narrower than the 77 triples so i need to run the 77 ones to use the 77 wheel OR I use VA montesa forks and triples I was hoping to kept it all husky. Off to the bearing mob see what they have??
