Well its nearly that time of year again when i become a temporary Jehovah's witness
i don't do Christmas , its not a religious thing its just that im a tight arse miserable bastard
But it is a time of celebration for many and i would like to wish all my forum friends a very happy holiday season in advance and a very healthy , happy, safe and successful 2014 .
A year ago today i had an driving indiscretion with the constabulary witch involved alcohol and a bit of a blue with a couple of young cops
I was not way over the limit and felt fine to drive after leaving a friends B Day party .
Tip # 1 if a cop tells you to get on the pavement, probably best not to tell him to get fuct and go and put dads uniform back in the cupboard .
Tip #2 if the cop pushes you, probably best not to tell him if he pushes you again, his mates will be drawing a chalk mark around him .
Tip # 3 if cop pushes you again ( even though your girlfriend advised him against it ) don't side step him and push him onto his arse
Tip # 4 DONT DRINK AND DRIVE ITS NOT WORTH IT .
This scenario happened to me a year ago today and although i make light of it , fighting it was the longest and most expensive six months of my life . I very luckily got off the charges after 5 court appearances, due to employing a top Barrister ( this bloke could have got Michael Jackson a job in day care or Stevie Wonder a driving licence ) but it cost me more money than i care to think about .
Also the stress levels have probably taken 10 yrs off my life , the ramifications of losing my licence would have been catastrophic in my line of work .
So my point is please don't drink and drive over the season ( or anytime ) all the sensational shock advertising they use to discourage drink driving had no effect on me ( maybe im desensitized due to my work ) but the reality of looking at a loss of licence and a lifestyle change really rammed it home .
Best wishes to you and yours
Bill
